——The 2023 International Sports & Leisure Forum concluded successfully

The 2023 International Sports and Leisure Forum, held from November 10th to 11th concluded successfully on the Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University. Supported by the World Leisure Organization and hosted by Zhejiang University, the forum was co-organized by the World Leisure Center of Excellence at Zhejiang University, National Sports Industry Research Base of General Administration of Sport of China at Zhejiang University, and the College of Education, Zhejiang University.
Under the theme of Empower Sports & Leisure with Data Intelligence, the forum attracted senior experts from China, Canada, Australia, Spain, the Netherlands, Hungary, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and other countries. Over 100 sports and leisure scholars, practitioners, and young students engaged in discussions about the research progress and future trends of sports and leisure in the context of digital technology. The esteemed participants included World Leisure Organization Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Cristina Ortega NUERE; World Leisure Organization Vice Chairman, Dr. Lawal MARAFA; and Dean of the College of Education, Zhejiang University, Dr. Yue KAN.
The opening ceremony featured welcome speeches by Dr. Yue KAN, Dean of the College of Education at Zhejiang University, and Ms. Joanne SCHROEDER, Chair of the World Leisure Organization. Both expressed their warm wishes for the success of the forum.

Professor Lijun ZHOU, Director of the World Leisure Organization Zhejiang University Leisure Center of Excellence (WLCE-ZJU), provided insights into the construction process, development status, and planning work of the WLCE-ZJU. Established in 2018, the center has actively leveraged international platforms to deepen research in sports and leisure and has organized International Sports & Leisure Forum 3 times since its inception. These conferences have not only facilitated high-quality exchange opportunities but have also enhanced China's influence in the international sports and leisure research domain. The forum, with its focus on empowering sports and leisure through data intelligence, served as a platform for fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and advancing the global discourse on the intersection of digital technology and leisure. The successful conclusion of the forum marks another milestone in the ongoing efforts to elevate China's standing in the international sports and leisure research community.

With Healthy China and Sports Power emerging as essential components of this trajectory, the integration of digital and intelligent technologies has become a focal point in reshaping the landscape of sports and leisure. This pivotal theme of Empower Sports & Leisure with Data Intelligence drew together 12 renowned experts and scholars from both domestic and international arenas. These experts delivered impactful keynote speeches, shedding light on crucial topics such as the digital economy's influence on the sports industry, national fitness, national health, and the integrated development of sports +.
During the morning session, Professor Ping LING, an executive committee member of the World Leisure Organization, moderated the keynote reports. Distinguished speakers included Dr. Cristina Ortega NUERE, Chief Operating Officer of the World Leisure Organization; Dr. Shuhong XIAO, Dean of the Business School of Sport at Beijing Sport University; Dr. Lawal MARAFA, Vice Chairman of the World Leisure Organization and professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Dr. Dongfeng LIU, Dean of the University Graduate School at Shanghai University of Sport; Dr. Miklos BANHIDI from Hungarian University of Sports Sciences; and Dr. Liangjun ZHOU, Dean of the Graduate School of Guangzhou Sport University.

In the afternoon, Dr. Naichun GAO from Zhejiang University hosted the keynote speech session. Noteworthy speakers included Dr. Yiyi JIANG, Vice Dean of School of Recreation, Sports and Tourism at Beijing Sport University; Dr. John TOWER from the Victoria University; Dr. Yunxia DING of China Institute of Sports Science ; Dr. Marcel BASTIAANSEN, professor of Breda University of Applied Sciences; Dr. Ying GAO, ZJU 100 Young Professor of Zhejiang University; Dr. Andrew MANLEY from the University of Bath, UK.

The insightful keynote speeches delved into topics such as outdoor sports equipment, sports consumption, leisure experience, children's sports activities, and the impact of digital technology on the sports and leisure industry. The emphasis was on technological innovation and data analysis as catalysts for industry development.
Following these engaging presentations, Dr. Lijun ZHOU, chair of the forum and director of the WLCE-ZJU, presided over the closing ceremony. Dr. Cristina Ortega NUERE systematically introduced the key programs of the World Leisure Organization, extending a warm welcome to scholars and practitioners to participate in global leisure industry construction in the near future. Dr. Liang HU, vice dean of the College of Education at Zhejiang University, summarized the conference and delivered the closing speech. In the end, Dr. Lijun ZHOU expressed gratitude to all the speakers, leaders, scholars, and students, promising a reunion at the next International Sports and Leisure Forum.
This forum provided a robust academic exchange platform for professionals, scholars, and students in the field of sports and leisure. With over 10 guests, over 30 participating representatives, and over 70 student representatives in attendance, the event facilitated discussions on new achievements and sought avenues for further development.
