The Textbook Research Center was established on November 28, 2015. The Center now has a total of 16 members. The main function and goal of the Center is to organize and study the textbooks of primary and middle schools during the period of the Republic of China. Since the establishment of the Center, its members have actively carried out academic exchanges at home and abroad, visited and exchanged with German International Textbook Research Institute, Humboldt University, Aarhus University in Denmark, and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and made academic reports on major textbook research platforms in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China. It also has cooperated with Shanghai Dictionary Publishing House to build the national development and reform project "Resource Platform of Education for Modern Primary and Secondary Schools", and undertaken the sorting project of textbooks (Chinese, Citizen, Foreign Language, History, Geography, Common Knowledge and other subjects) for primary and secondary schools during the period of the Republic of China.  At present, it has undertaken the "heritage and innovation project of traditional culture" and "textbook research project of the Republic of China", which affiliated with the "double first class" construction of Zhejiang University.

The director of the Center is Prof. LIU Zhengwei.
